Alto Opinion(s) wanted

Would like to hear opinions, comments, critiques, praise, et al on an Artley Alto flute made in 1981. Don't yet know if it was made in Elkhardt or Nogales. What do you think?

Alto flute beginner

Can folks recommend some nice, soothing solo music for a beginning alto flute player? To help you, my taste periodically gravitates towards the likes of haunting notes from the Native American flute and ancient sounds of the Celts (though I'm not sure if Celtic is slow ha ha). Selections 'inbetween'...

Am also interested in a two piece pad saver. Have seen them for bfoot and cfoot flutes. Anyone know if there is such a cr...

"Cereal Number"

A little humor for a Monday, but a bona fide question -
I am looking at a nice Artley alto flute, and the seller has said they could not see a serial number on the instrument. Does this strike anyone as bogus, or are there true instances of this? Tx. much.

Re: Jupiter alto flute

Comparing an Artley alto flute w/solid silver straight head joint - which do folks think would be a better of choice for a beginner purchasing their 1st alto - the Artley or the Jupiter "500". Tx for all input. Very helpful!

Jupiter alto flute

Help - I'm feeling the call of an alto flute and need some advice please! I have come upon a Jupiter alto flute for sale. The asking price is between $740-$820. It is used, in good shape, not played much, and the flute head joint actually says just 500 with no letter designation to indicate which he...

Music, Music, Music

Ah, to find somewhere new to "thumb through" music. Guess it's all done with thumbs but on the keyboard now and not perusing the collections in your local music shops. Would love to find more music for flute (sheet music, books, songs written on napkins lol) in the venues of Celtic, World, Renaissan...

In search of the alto

Greetings from the new kid on the block. Just discovered the "forum" and it's wonderfully interesting/informative. Are Phineas or other enlightened souls available to offer comments to one searching for a gently used alto flute to purchase, learn with and enjoy. I am not a professional and play for ...

Artley alto flute

Recently viewed two Artley alto flutes on good ole EBay, one was really lovely and roughly an early 80's model. Sadly, did not have available funds to bid on at the time it was offered. However, my question put to the group is-absolutely no one bid on this instrument and it was offered twice. Anothe...
