Turned out quite nice with sparkling white sapphires!

Nah....the stones are less than 1/4 of a mm proud (above) the surface. The settings are called bezels. They are not prongs. You can feel them, but there's no sharpness to the texture. Many flutists have engraved embouchures--this is probably the first time anyone has set gemstones on one. (At least,...

Yeah....this one just might be a bit over the top. (but you gotta admit, it is pretty stunning!)

Thanks! Another thing might be the weight. I made these solid and they are about 0.50 oz.
The silver crowns I've used as dimensional models are 0.32 oz.
Shouldn't make a tonal difference because of the cork isolation.

Actually, the base material is solid 416 Grade Stainless Steel....highly polished.
Those color bands are pure copper and pure 24K gold wire inlays.
The stones are colored CZ's.

Wasn't sure how far to take it, but I like the way it turned out. Here's the particulars: It's made of 416 grade Stainless Steel with 12 Swarovsky CZ Gemstones.
