Re: Which flute to get?

Hi, I would suggest the Haynes classic series of flutes. I have played the q3 and q4 and loved them both! Good luck to you.

Re: Mateki flute

Hi, I know this post came up some time ago. However, I tried a Mateki 5 at my flute lesson on Monday and thought I would share my thoughts. The Mateki was solid silver with drawn tone holes. This was the only Mateki flute I have ever played. Having said that, I must confess that I hated it! The righ...

Re: Poll- Flute

1) What group do you play for? I like to play for myself and I try to give a flute recital every year. 2) What kind of flute do you play? Miyazawa 101. (I think it has a solid silver headjoint because my Dad bought it for me in 2000.) 3) What is your dream flute? I would love to own a gold flute. Ho...

Re: haynes flute questions

Hi all: I just wanted to answer the question I posted in case anyone was curious. At my flute lesson last night, I got to play a Haynes Q3 and a Haynes Q4. I compared the 2 flutes for around 45 minutes. The Q4 has soldered tone holes and the Q3 has drawn ones. The Q4 has a different headjoint althou...

Re: silver plated versus solid silver

I apologize for a mistake I made in an earlier post. I played a Haynes Q2 which had a solid silver body and plated keys. I also played a Haynes Q3 that had solid silver body and keys. I liked the Q3 much better.

Re: compare pro flute brand names

Hi, I am not sure what your budget is. I would strongly recommend the Haynes q3 flute. I got to play one with a c trill key, and a gold riser. I was very impressed!!! I have played that flute 3 times and listened to my recordings of myself. I think that flute gets a great sound and is very responsiv...

Re: New flute brands - for me

Hi, what did you like about the mateki flute? I will be in the flute markit next summer so any information you have would help. What flute do you play? Why did you chose that brand?

Re: haynes flute questions

Amen! I agree that I should try as minny flutes as I can. I am not going to be able to get a new flute until next august. And, I am not completely sure what my budget will be. I do know I want solid silver body and keys. I am surprised but it really does make a difference. If anyone has played any o...

Re: silver plated versus solid silver

Hi, at my flute lesson the other day, I played a Haynes q 3 and Haynes q4. The q3 had a solid silver body and plated keys. The q4 had solid keys, and a gold risor. I noticed a big difference between the 2 flutes. I really liked the q4!
