Beginner Flutist Seeking The Right Flute

Get a Gemeinhardt! I got a
gemeinhardt beginner and I just bought a gemeinhardt open-hole. Wouldn't have
any other brand. Unlike other brands, gemeinhardt specializes in flutes and I
feel they make better flutes because of that. Hope that helped!

I just bought an open hole flute yesterday. I find that all my fingers fit well except the ring fingers. I'm adjusting pretty fast. The reason you couldn't make a sound is due to the fact your fingers didn't cover the holes. As someone else said it comes with plugs so dont' worry. I am also under th...

I practice at least 1 hour because I have band in school.
After school I practice about 30 mins-1 hour. I have a question for you, some of
my keys on my brand new flute are sticking, what do u do to make them not?

Tone Quality

Thanks for the help people. I lost 1st chair...I'm second
now... I wish i would have never gotten braces because I can play better but my
braces prevent me from sounding my best. I'll get them off in a year and
half...i've had them for half a year now. Thanks again![:bigsmile:]

I pracitice 30 minutes a day when I have time and
I've found to be very succesful since I was 1st chair flute last year...braces

I have braces and it''s affecting my tone quality. I play all the notes, but some that used to be crystal clear are now airy and weak. I''ve tried everything I can think of. braces

I got braces last year and it felt weird, tell your friend to
try rolling the flute in or out. That helped me alot. Mostly, just tell your
friend to practice after school alot, because with braces it mostly just takes
some getting used to. [;)]
