tuning issues

Post by muzikislif3 »

Hey! me again, haven't been on in a few weeks. anywho...im having a little bit of tuning issues. My flute is always really sharp and i always have to pull it out about half an inch (probably like an inch in humidity) because it's always wicked sharp. I also tried adjusting the tuning cork which helped a little bit. I don't have enough money to even rent another flute. ugh...help?

thanks,
Michele

Did this flute come with its original Headjoint? Seems too much having to pull out half an inch (what to say about one whole inch...).

When you adjusted the cork, did you check to see if the mark on your cleaning rod is in the center of the embouchure hole?

It's also possible that you have the headjoint rolled out too far. That will make the pitch go sharp. Try rolling the headjoint toward you and see if that improves/flattens the pitch.
