Yes, that's the dilemma. I need to send the Powell off to be diagnosed for its ailments (not sure if it's pads, or what), anyway, so was hoping it to send it off to a store/repair shop that had a number of good potential head joints that might fit and which they could then send to me for a trial.
The newer Powell head joints would have be to be sized, as you say, though I guess I could try them on my other flute, just to see how they sound. Anyone have any experience with their newish head joints?
You can always have a repairman/tech size down the new headjoint. Bad thing is you won't know how it sounds until you do, since the headjoint is too big (too small and you can fudge with a strip of paper for testing). Makes it hard, buying untried like that and not being able to return it after it's resized.>'Kat
