Hi, I'm new. *waves* ^_^ I've been playing since, oh, '96 I think. Intermediate skill, I suppose...I play in a concert band, and I can hold my own pretty well, I just get lost in runs of sixteenths, stuff like that. But enough about me.
I've been looking around the net for a microphone system, but so far nothing's quite what I'm looking for. I don't know how many of you have seen these, but Yamaha makes those electronic trumpet mutes that output directly to a set of headphones, right? Well, is there any microphone for the flute that has a headphone jack rather than output to an amp or a MIDI box?
Just to be clear, it's not the muting effect I want, I know that's impossible, it's just that sometimes our band plays in VERY cramped quarters, and with the sax's right behind me and the trumpets right behind them (if I scoot my chair back, I'll knock the alto's music stand into her lap) I can't hear myself at all, and I'm not well-practiced enough to just "know" that I'm playing at the right volume, right pitch, not under/overblowing, etc. I need to hear myself and sometimes I can't. So...any suggestions?

I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory.
