If you will do a search on this board, there is a thread called FAQ.

It was put together by many members of this board [ myself being one of them] and it will answer most of your questions. However, for short term, there is not a best or worst flute at any skill level. Each player is different, so each player has different preferences. I myself prefer japanese made flutes, others hate them and only prefer makers in the Boston area. It is all a matter of preference. I really wish that there was definately a best flute because it would solve a lot of problems that people encounter when they upgrade [ such as finding a flute and headjoint combination that works well for you instead of just liking the headjoint but hating the body of the flute]. So, I wish it was that simple but it isnt.

So, definately do a search for a FAQ thread [frequently asked questions]. Read the updated one and some of the additional posts on it. If you have any more questions, then please ask. But reading that will most definately help answer a lot of questions.
