Are you in or have you been in any honor bands???

I made one in January, SEIBA (South East Iowa Bandmasters Asotiation) and got 3 chair, I was the highest placed 7th grader( grades included: 6 7 8 9) !!! it was so FUN! We have a local one in april, so thats going to be fun.
Have you ever been in any honor bands???

I have been in local district bands [flute and picc] and have been in various university sponsored honor bands [flute and picc as well].

I made All-District Band 4th chair. Now I'm qualified to try out for state.

Last year (7th grade) and since I just switched school's I'll be going twice this year. It's really, really finespecially when ur with friends!!

i've been in a bunch, mostly not so tough, like..

4x all city band, 1x district + 9th grade region + region band + area band

honor bands are fun, i had one this weekend with this crazy old flute teacher/band director. he had his flute out, he could transpose and sightread parts in a snap, and play any kind of chord/scale you could throw at him. amazing. sorry i just wanted to add that =D

I have been in Region Band 2 times, County Band 3 times, and I got into the USC Honor Band Clinic this year.

District Band from 7th-12th grade, County Band 11th grade, RCC Honor Band 9th-11th grade, All-State 7th-8th grade, Rose Parade Honor Band 9th grade, and Top Talented 9th-12th grade.

Last year for high school honor bands, but I'm too busy with school and work, so I don't have the time to audition for some of them this year.
I'm gonna miss them all.

University of Tampa Honor Band - 6th chair

University of South Florida Festival of Winds - Opus 32 - Symphonic Band (aka 2nd band) , 2nd chair

All County Honor Band - 11th chair

That's it for now..I think. Unless I'm forgetting something haha.

I'm in an honor band now, but I don't really consider it an honor band. Every one is so bad! First chair, first band, that's me. ^^ It ain't hard. I don't even have to try. XD That's how bad everyone is here.

Yes, I have just finished performing with the All District and County Bands. This week-end I have All State auditions wish me luck.

this weekend my university is hosting an honors band clinic, where there are 4 honors band [two concert bands, a symphonic band, and a wind ensemble.... at least that is what they are called, and are ranked in that order in terms of difficulty....

it is absolutely CRAZY!!!! I helped my professor get ready for this a little bit, and there were at least 100 flutists auditioning..... The music building is bursting at the seams with high school instrumentalists...
