The fact is, if he gets paid to play flute, then he is a professional no matter how good/bad he plays.

Also, Thank goodness I do not have video tapes of my "not so good" performances on the internet. One thing to remember is ANYHONE can have a bad performance.

As far as the children, I take what I can get. Not every parent can pay for lessons, or the best instruments. THank goodness the child chose music as an interest instead of drugs, gangs or having babies...if you know what I mean!

Now, I wonder what the FLUTE GOD police will say about this post?

I am not going to comment on the standard of flute playing here, but I do think that a post like yours should be removed from a public Forum. People can make up there own mind without the need for such rude and scathing remarks like this.

I agree with Phineas (although I think the catty remark was superfluous) -- anyone can have a bad performance. And technically, if he's getting paid, he's a professional. I wonder why he'd choose to publicize those particular clips, rather than show his best performances?

I'd like to think that when parents are looking for teachers for their children, they will look for evidence to back up claims of "mastery" of an instrument, and for evidence of what standard a teacher holds him/herself to.

(I kind of feel that claiming to have "mastered" an instrument should be a red flag itself...)

If you want it taken down, you'll have to talk to the admin or a moderator (though Damjan doesn't show up very often, so the admin will probably be the best way to go). Of course, you can always edit the post to remove the offending content.
