Hmm... three Cs above middle C,
although apparently there's a way to get the C# and D above that- if you're
brave enough to risk the glass in your windows trying [8)]

fingerings aren't the hard part,
they are available online. Fortunately you rarely need anything above C.

E4 i've never seen it required,
but it's fun to do an arpeggio up to that note at the end of the carmen
fantasy.... sometimes F4, which you can play at the end of the ibert
concerto.

Me? I would hate to let anyone
hear a note that would come from a flute I tried to play. No I was speaking for
my daughter. I asked her what her high note is to add to the discussion here.
She really doesn't work on it much since no pieces she has played need such
high notes but she now hits D4 as her top practice note when she bothers to go
that high. As noted previously she has been playing just over 2 years. I do NOT
think your highest note is a good measure of how your playing is progressing. It
is just a fun topic.

>>Me? I would hate to let anyone

suprise yourself. With all the knowledge you have attained in watching your
daughter learn you may do just fine. Have you decided on a new flute for your
daughter yet? Maybe you could keep her old one and you could start playing too
