Engraving

I have a few questions about engraving on the lip plate. Does it effect the sound at all? And would you trust a place like Woodwind & Brasswind to do it? Thanks!

It does not effect sound, and I personally would not trust wwbw to do any work for me, especially something this perminant. Try Fluteworld. You will pay a little more, but the quality of their work is FAR better.

You could also consider having one of the more reputable makers of fine flutes engrave your lip plate. I know both Powell and Brannen (and I'm sure several others) have some exquisitely talented hand engravers, and they can do pretty much any design you could want. It's relatively inexpensive too...Roughly $230 for the basic designs.
