My new flute! (Sort of)

Post by Callidor »

Well, it's not really new, and in a sense it's not "mine." It's my mom's Gemeinhardt 3s, purchased in 1973. I finally got around to having it serviced and it looks and plays like new. It has a nice warm tone, and the silver looks great now that it's had over 3 decades of tarnish polished off

Congrats! Seems really brand new.
Good thing you've done is a complete tech revision, even if the instrument have not been played for a long time. Oil looses viscosity and the pads get dry with time. So any leaks would ruin your playing.

cheers

Looks great !!! :D

I must be about your mom's age as I got my current flute in December 1972. I remember being so excited at the time, that I used to sleep with it in bed ... silly me
