When do you sound the best ?

Post by fluteluversmom »

I was wondering if you have noticed that
you sound the best when playing your flute at a certain time of the day. I seem
to sound better if I play in the afternoons and my daughter prefers evenings. I
am not sure if this is all a matter of mind or not but I know that I have read
on other message boards that other people also have times of the day that they
prefer to practice. Kim

Nights. Definitely nights. It's usually
right around the time I ought to go to bed. It stinks, because It's not good to
practice after dark. I practice in the afternoons a lot, but I tend to notice
myself, maybe it's an illusion, playing better when I practice at night.

I personally don't tend to notice a time
frame which I perform best in. I play best when I'm either by myself, or
playing for other flute players at our school that are at a lower level, so
yeah, basically I'm showing off what I can do, lol! But yeah, personally I find
I play best when someone is listening and appreciating what I am doing and
knowing the work that has gone into it. I seem to play sucky at my lessons, but
my flute teacher finds that when she has her piano lessons so she understands. I
also thik I sound above my average standard when I'm playing in a room with a
slight echo, not just because of the echo, but once I hear it and find it sounds
nicer, and tend to add more to really get my sound going. [8)]
