I'm looking for a response to this question as well. I've had the same problem. Here's my situation: I am 39 years old. The last couple years I began playing again for our church's contemporary Praise Team. Before that, I only had my flute out a dozen times our so since high school. To be honest, I ...

For what it's worth, I have a 25 year-old M3S that still plays very well. I have taken excellent care of it. I know having a good quality flute can make you sound better, but ultimately it is the person playing the flute that makes a good sound. I am not qualified to give you an estimate of the flut...

1) What is your current association with the flute? (prof, hobby, band student, teacher, etc) I am the flutist in my church's contemporary service. 2) How many years have you played? Off and on for 28 years (oooh...that makes me sound OLD!) 3) How often and how long do you practice? I try to practic...

How is the amusement park there? We did the same thing, except at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio...we had to march right throught the middle of the park (that's when it's fun to be a majorette, in the front row!). I hope my son (8th grade) keeps up the trombone so he can share in all those experience...

It was Camp Crescendo...can't remember what city...all I remember is that it seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere. The entire band did not go...it was just us majorettes and the flags...boy, was it hot...I think I lost 10 lbs in one week, and had a great tan from being on those fields 6am-4pm...

You'll feel good about yourself when you've finished!
Wow...8am-8pm is a long time for band camp. Hope it's not too hot out there for you where you live. You'll have fun. My fondest memories of high school are from band/orchestra. "Back in my day" (do I sound like a mom?)...Class of 1986...band camp was 9-12 in the morning and 6-9 at night, for two wee...

Thank you everyone for your helpful replies! Well, my sweet husband bought me a new flute! We bought it off of Ebay of all places (because the seller would let me return it if I didn't like it, otherwise I wouldn't have done it). We got an excellent deal on it since it had been out on a rental for 3...

Gemeinhardt question
What neat site...this would have been fun when I was in high school! I recently picked up my flute again to play in our church's contemporary service and I'm having great fun! A former band director in our group said that the Gemeinhardt company changed since my mom and dad bought me my open-holed f...
