I was doing some research on youtube. Someone posted a video of Sir James Galway teaching a seminar. He was against using the "smiling" embouchure. Which I thought was an interesting idea. I haven't tried it yet though.

Embouchure

I was talking with a friend about playing the flute. He said he was listening to this girl play who was really good because her playing was sound, no extra air. I was telling him I never actually learned how to form a flute embouchure, I played clarinet before the flute and adapted the clarinet embo...

I don't know of any big names but I've heard that Central Washington University is one of the best ones in the state of Washington. But I"m not sure how far you're willing to go for college.

Help with Third Octave

I just got some music that goes into the third octave. I need some tips on hitting those notes. Anytime I try it just comes out as this windy airy sound.

I know this has nothing to do with the flute

I need help. I'll be playing a special in my church, it will be on the recorder. The song I'll be playing has an Irish sound to it and I know that I can do the Irish sound, (I've done it but I don't know what I was doing).
Does anyone know how to get the Irish sound out of the recorder?

Low notes....

I've been having a hard time playing low notes. And I've heard that it's harder to hit the lower notes. But I'm a perfectionist and I pick up instruments so quickly. Maybe instead of giving tips it would be easier to send a picture or upload a video on youtube.com so I can see it because I'm self ta...

Audacity is having a problem! It won't record unless the headphone volume is turned all the way down. So I can't hear the music when I'm recording multiple lines. Has anyone else experienced this problem.

Well thanks. My mandolin has a 1/4 inch jack, but my laptop has a 1/8 inch jack (or the normal headphone size)
Does anyone know the cost of a preamp?

Actually I love Audacity but if I can pay for one it would be nice to buy something that has more features and all that stuff.
