Wow. I like "Tweet".
I wonder what the Gary Shocker piece is like? I am already planning on playing "Flitter and Flit". Maybe I should look for something by another composer.

Bird Music for Piccolo
Hello everybody,
I am looking for music with a birds theme for my Capstone recital to finish college.
I have my flute music mostly picked out.
I got a new piccolo and I would like to play a piccolo piece or two.
Thanks for your suggestions and help

Re: Haynes sold to Eastman
You wouldn't happen to know the serial numbers for 2004? I am looking at a new Haynes flute with a serial number starting with 67xxx. I am wondering if it is pre Eastman. It still sounds fantastic. ooops I just found the answer. I typed the serial number into my phone wrong. Haynes doesn't have any ...

Re: Yamaha 674 or my old Muramatsu
I keep my flute tuned up. I take it to the flute tech once or twice a year. I know how to check for leaks. The Muramatsu is not leaking. I am having it tuned up later this month and I will play it one more time to make sure. Maybe it's the split E. I have no idea. I just sound a lot better on the Ya...

Re: Pearl 765CODA vs Yamaha 674HCT vs Di Zhao 700
I have never used the gizmo. Growing up, my flute didn't have one. I just stuck my pinky up at the top of the rollers on the B foot. Works just as well. Old flutes don't have a gizmo.

Re: Pearl 765CODA vs Yamaha 674HCT vs Di Zhao 700
I understand the small hands part. I too have small hands. The foot joint on the Yamaha is quite a reach for me. I can barely reach the gizmo. I don't have that problem with the Muramatsu. Some day when you have the funds, maybe you should try a Muramatsu. I find the keys are easier to reach with sm...

Re: Pearl 765CODA vs Yamaha 674HCT vs Di Zhao 700
I agree with Phineas. Get you flute serviced and see if you like it better. I do have to say. I just got a Yamaha 674HCT and I am impressed. My flute teacher likes it better than my Muramatsu. I guess I just happen to sound better on the Yamaha. It is solid silver and my Muramatsu is only silver pla...

Re: Yamaha 674 or my old Muramatsu
I got the Yamaha yesterday. I took it to Wind Ensemble last night. I played it and I liked it. I took it to my flute teacher today and she said wow. She thinks I sound better on the Yamaha than my Muramatsu. The sound is brighter and lighter and I think some of the high notes are better on the Yamah...

Re: Yamaha 674 or my old Muramatsu
Thanks. I am trying to come up with a way to keep them both if I like the Yamaha.

Yamaha 674 or my old Muramatsu
I have a Yamaha 674 in the mail. I am worried I will be disappointed. Has anybody compared it to the 800 series flutes? I played an 800 series about 5 years ago and it was great. I never played a 600 series. I owned a 300 series and I was disappointed with the mechanism and the tuning. I owned a 384...

Re: The Muramatsu scale. Older and newer flutes
Thanks Matt for taking the time to research this for me. "Dear Matt, Muramatsu Inc. has not changed the scale on their instruments since 1981, so the short answer is that the EX and AD have the same scale. If you have any additional questions, please let us know. Valerie at Muramatsu America" I was ...

Re: The Muramatsu scale. Older and newer flutes
Thanks Zevang. I will be going back and forth almost constantly between the two flutes. I have only been playing for about 4 years and it's a little harder for me to make quick adjustments to play the flute in tune. I was playing my old Armstrong this afternoon and it was a lot of work. Not enjoyabl...

The Muramatsu scale. Older and newer flutes
I am about to buy a used flute. I love Muramatsu flutes. I have an EXIII and I love it above all other flutes I have owned, Powell and an Amadeus. I am trying to find a good used flute. Did Muramatsu change the scale on their flutes when they went from the AD model to the DN? I am wondering how diff...
