Hi again, I had a few questions about this piece in general... First, how do you do the trills- slow, fast, go to the note above or below? Are there any good examples of trills in sonatas (something that I could listen to) that I could use as an example to help me play them correctly. Second, How sh...

Tell me what you think

Hi all. I am working on Handel's Flute Sonata in F Major... I posted a video of it on youtube and I was wondering if any of you would be interested in going to the video page ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3ezSwd3a64 ) and telling me what you think. I hope to improve on this piece and I would app...

I have a question about this piece. For an auditon I am supposed to play "Mozart Concerto in G, first movement exposition" what exactly does that mean. What measures does that include or from where to where is the exposition. Thanks.

Thanks all. this is good stuff to think about. to reply to nasxxx- for example if i was doing c major, 1-3-5 version, i'd start on low c and do c,e,g,c,e,g,c,e,g,high c, and back down... and 1-3-5-7 would be c,e,g,b,c,e,g,b,c,e,g,b,high c, and back down... 1-3-5-7 is always awquard for me sence the ...

Arpeggios

For college autitions is it expected that you do your arpeggios 1-3-5 or 1-3-5-7. I've never had to do arpeggios at an audition, and in my lessons from different teachers I have worked on them both ways. I would hate to go in and play it one way, and for it to be wanted another way. On the website i...

I'm glad to hear the pearl is a good flute.
Thanks for the link to the other topic.
And the headjoint/mouthpiece makes sense. Cool stuff.

Thanks all... this is great advice. I have to get it from wwbw, since I can’t pay all the money at once, and they have a monthly payment plan. I bought my sax from there and it is still working fine 3+ years later, so I feel good with that site, although fluteworld seems like a really good place to ...

does cost matter?

I am looking to buy a new flute. I was looking at a Gemeinhardt flute (http://www.wwbw.com/Gemeinhardt-Model-3-Flute-i10308.music ). It has a low b and open holes. My question is does the cost or the level of the flute really affect things that much. As long as the keys work, and it is made from a t...

that's totally it! i know i would enjoy the Fantaisie Pastorale Hongroise. i think that that and the Chaminade Concertino would be good for an audition. i am looking forward to learning more about this piece. thanks.
p.s. i love your signature quote.
