I love my Jupiter, even though its just my second flute now. My dad may make me sell it though because I need a piccolo and my family doesn't have tons of money so yeah.
Its in great condition and plays well. If I have to sell it, I'll miss it. lol.

I have a Jupiter student model that has lasted me 4 years. It plays excellently, but is now my backup/marching flute because I have an open-hole. I'm not sure of the model on mine, but it IS a student flute. It works really well and has lasted a long time.

I just looked and it says they will be in Charlotte, NC in 2011. That will be the year I graduate so I'll have college in the fall. I hope I will be able to make it. Yay! I'll drive to NC. That's pretty close to here.
Is there a membership fee or registration fee or anything?

Ah, okay.
I wish they would come here. Nobody ever comes here. lol. Music bands always seem to come to the surrounding states, but skip Georgia. Is there any way to find out their planned cities?

I can't Kansas City is crazy far away.
Does/will the NFA ever come to Georgia or any state kind of close to it (Alabama, North/South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida)?

I will probably be going tomorrow. Its been a week and I had a post-op appointment today and the doctor said everything looked really good. My mouth also feels much better which is important. :P So I really, really hope I'm going tomorrow and if I do, I will definitely post a report.

Actually, I didn't get to go yesterday. :( When I wrote this, I forgot that I was having surgery on my mouth Friday. I had gingevectomies and frenectomies which basically means they cut away part of my gums and they removed the things that connect my lip and gums. So I was in no shape to try out pic...

lol. I definitely plan on cleaning it. Thoroughly. With sanitary wipes as well as alcohol. lol. I won't play it at all until I've cleaned it. I have played a bit of piccolo but only at a few Friday night games because one of the seniors was really nice and let me play it. At the pawn shop, I am goin...

A little update if you're interested. :P I called some local pawn shops and found four piccolos. I'm going to check them out Saturday because my parents will be off work. The brands and prices I'll list here. I'd like a few opinions as to what you guys think. 1. Selmer. I'm guessing its a Prelude be...

Thanks everyone. We are looking on eBay. I have also told my dad to look at some pawn shops while he's at work (he has to drive to different places during the day so he can do that) and I'm going to ask my mom if we can go looking today, maybe. Also, etgohomeok, I will be using it for concerts as we...

That was you? lol. I saw that review on the site a couple days ago. The Barringtons play well, then? I will be marching picc as well as playing concert music so is it okay for both settings? I told my parents we should go to a couple pawn shops to look around and see if we could find anything and th...

Buying a Piccolo

I'm looking into buying a piccolo this summer. I have been playing flute for 4 years and I'll be a sophomore in high school when school starts again. My band director told me that this year, if I can get a piccolo before marching season, he would love for me to march picc. My parents are probably go...

lol. I know what you mean. I play at church sometimes, too. I refuse to play on Sunday mass just Saturdays because there are less people and it is way less nervewracking. About your low notes, you may also still be getting used to your new flute. I know when I got mine, I had trouble with the low no...

I'm not sure although this summer if I can get a piccolo, my band director said he would love for me to march piccolo as well as play concert music. My friend, will however, get first choice of what picc songs she wants because she's first chair and I'm third of Symphonic Band (our middle-level band...
