@ miyazawagirl, funny you say that about the copper fitting strips. I just purchased some of this to take with me to TMEA next month to try headjoints.

Re: where can i buy left handed flute.?
Flute Pro Shop in Delaware sells new Viento left-handed flutes. Not sure on country of origin, but you may want to do some research if you live outside of the US.

It's time for an overhaul on one of my flutes and a COA on my picc. I'm being indecisive on which carrier I should use. I'm looking for something quick and safe , but cost effective. Any repair guys out there have a preferrence on a carrier? Also, I just renewed my Clarion policy, so insurance isn't...

Re: wing lip head joint?
"Muramatsu wing lip head joint correct name: Tsubasa" To add further confusion, the Tsubasa is not a wing lip. Tsubasa is the Muramatsu version of Adler wings. As recently as the 80-90's Muramatsu did produce a true wing lip. Here's a link for reference. http://www.fluteworld.com/index.php?action=pr...

Re: Wiseman Flute Case
Doesn't look like I'm going to make any friends with this post, but here goes. I think the Wiseman's are gimmicky and only worth the money if you travel regularly with your flute. I have a few friends with Wiseman cases and there seems to be a few common issues. The biggest one, for me, is the frigg...

Yes, but for me, there wasn't much difference between it and the all silver next to it on the table.

Re: Have We Given Our Flutes Names? (And/Or Piccs-N-Saxes!)
My new flute doesn't have a name yet, but my Hammig piccolo does, I like to call him Phillippe. There are a lot of Kingma/Kotato contrabass flute players that name their flutes. The goal is to choose a name starting with the letter C if you play contra... The two contras I play with regularly are Co...

Re: Flute Security
I personally recommend the Snagg (https://www.snagg.com/) recovery/tracking system. A local repair tech can put the tracker almost anywhere because of its small size (like a single grain of rice). Mine is on the headjoint; my flute tech removed the headjoint cork, cut a small sliver or pocket and in...

Re: Share About Your Current AND DREAM Flute or HeadJoint...
flutego12~ I was lucky enough to be invited to play again at the National Flute Association Convention in Las Vegas (Aug 2012), so I took that opportunity to try as many as possible in the exhibit hall. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I probably played around 60-80 different flutes over the cou...
