never care about what most professional is using. one flute may be good for one person, and may be bad for the others. if you feel more comfortable with the offset one, then don't rush. wait for the offset.

Yeah, I've seen some Patillo's video in Youtube. It's great :D I've tried to beatbox while playing flute, but all my effort failed. maybe after I master flute in classic, I'll try to beatbox again :p

I also tap my foot, but only when I sight-reading a sheet.

After I know the music and am performing it in a concert, I'll just count the beat by waving my hand a little (if I'm not playing) and tap my toe inside the shoes if I'm playing.

in my opinion, you could call it a tone. my intonation (pitch) is also not really good especially in the third register. when i asked some musician how to fix it, they always say you must do the longnote using tuner. experimenting with rolling the flute, embouchure, etc. maybe this may works.
