I did find that after searching online, the info that I found was pretty much in agreement. Rubbing Alcohol was the primary substance that would de-germ to a degree and not harm the surface of flute.
That is what my findings were so far.

Micro Fibers
Since I wrote these past two messages, I have been noticing on line that other flute players are talking about micro fiber cloths that can be purchased at music supply places.
Does anyone know what these are made of?
Very curious.
Thanks so kindly.
God bless you.

Dear Pied Piper and Everyone!
I thank you also endlessly for helping me with this question, Pied Piper. I looked up this website and was able to review it and examine it. I detect that I will not need to make any adjustments in playing beginner books and easy books and all the rest, which is such a relief! THANK YOU SO MUCH! And...

Dear Fluttiegurl and Phineas
Thank you both ever so kindly for your kind and helpful advice. I really appreciate it. I believe the reality of what I am dealing with in our small church is that when people are playing instruments and singing for a church on a small level and those in the church who play by ear and are just kind ...

Hi there
Here are some thoughts from a beginner...so please don't laugh too loudly. Does this note play just right/perfectly when you separately just play this note? I was thinking that in these high registers, that with each note we play we know exactly how our lips and precise pressure has to be to play a ...

It occurred to me...
Also, absolutely wash your fabrics before using as most fabrics on the bolts have what they call, "Sizing" in it. This keeps it firm and looking nice. I would even take more care to wash any fabrics in mind, and then maybe do a double rinse to make sure all soaps are out too. Hand washing scraps or ...

Regarding the in line flutes
Yet, another question... My logical mind says that in line flutes would offer the best technical sound because the main notes would all be in a row, yes? But I see much debate over the topic about finger ease, but truly what is true about the sound quality? NO difference or is there? I absolutely do...

B Foot fingering chart
Greetings again! Another question... I do have a number of beginner flute books.... But, is there a fingering chart online that includes the fingerings for the B Foot? The reason that I ask, is I really do not know how this flute "overall" differs then from a flute without the B Foot. I would like t...

Disinfecting the Head Joint
I would like to know what is the safest way and best way to disinfect a head joint of a flute if one is not sure how germy it might be?
Thanks ever so kindly.

James Galway I am grateful also for all the time and offerings he allows on YouTube. I have gained so much from listening to his playing and his words. I also saw a brief documentary of him on Ovation channel recently. Even more, when I see him perform Annie's Song on YouTube, a recording that is fr...

Cloths to use
I am wondering that too, for I really do not know what is out there in the market place especially geared for flutes except the one that I purchased, which is for silver with the polishing cloth on the out side and the tarnish remover cloth on the inside. I am very aware that this inner cloth should...

Is there hope for me?
Greetings to you all! This is my first visit here, and I have quite a story to tell. My music beginnings have been pretty ignorant, rough, and poor. I managed to even learn music on an un-tune-able guitar where I believe I really set back my hearing. I think this is where teachers that I have had sa...
