Pulling Footjoint Out for Comfort
Hello all, Has anyone ever tried this? I've been practicing a lot. And I've always had a problem at times with certain passages/notes where my R4 finger does not completely close the hole slightly on the right side because my fingers are quite narrow. When I work at making sure the hole is closed by...

Re: Wooden Headjoints
Hi Missy I loved the Powell wooden headjoint. It was very responsive and had a focused tone that definately projected. It was a Philharmonic cut (not sure if Powell uses other cuts on their wooden headjoints). A few reasons I decided to send it back and keep the Full Circle is: The Full Circle, alth...

Re: Wooden Headjoints
Thanks for all of your comments/info! The new headjoint is a Powell. The used headjoint is a Full Circle Lot cut. I'm keeping the Full Circle and have sent the Powell back. Missyphoenix... from reading your other posts, you also own a Full Circle, correct? Beautiful headjoint. Do you have the Lot cu...

Re: Breathing
Thank you for all of your comments. Yoga does sound like a great idea. I have pretty good breath support/control I just need to be able to fill my lungs up with more air, I feel. I want to balloon out! One plus is that I can now feel cold air going down my throat when I inhale. All these years I've ...

Wooden Headjoints
Hello, Just received two wooden headjoints on trial and absolutely love both! After playing them for a couple days, switching them out, to see which one I like better, I thought it a good idea to see what the maintenance procedure is like when owning a wooden headjoint. So I went on the internet to ...

Re: Breathing
Thank you. I'm starting to see that. When you are playing the flute your breathing technique is part of playing the flute and must be practiced and engaged every time when playing so it becomes automatic. I do need to be patient. And yes, I would assume it certainly does help if you are healthy and ...

Breathing
Hi all, I'm working on my lung capacity and am wondering... Is it possible to be great at filling my lungs with air to their fullest without being a super athletic type person? I do walk everyday a mile and a half some of it up a steep hill, and try to make it to my aerobics class twice a week. So I...

Bb, B and C4 HELP!!!
Okay, I am planning on going back and taking lessons after a long, long, break. Until then I am practicing on my own and, I feel, an advanced player, have a good tone, read well, etc... except I do not like the way my high notes sound. I have a gizmo key which helps the speaking of C4. So that note ...

Sorry I have the coda model not the regular 795. Slightly more expensive. Actually, I do have the Coda model, 10k lip plate,... all the xtras. I got a good deal on it... I think you posted on the thread that I started, wondering which flute to keep, Yamaha or Pearl. Still deciding. It would be hard...

Thanks a lot, any thoughts on what to list them for? The pearl is mint and the yamaha is what it is a student flute, plays well though and doesnt leak. The Elegante Coda that I purchased cost me 2,072.00, in slightly used condition, through wwbw.com with a 45 day return policy. Great flute. What ha...

Sorry guys.... I couldn't resist. I tried the Elegante on a fast passage of a piece I will be playing tomorrow, to see how I like the mechanism as compared to the Yamaha. It is MUCH smoother and I can play the passage more easily. So... last question (I think): If I was to get the ec headjoint fitte...

Thanks again Phineas and Arianna. You're right Phineas, I'm just beginning my journey now. I will keep the Yamaha because it sounds so sweet. Everyone that hears it likes it the best. I still have time to keep the Elegante before sending it back. After tomorrow's performance I will play/practice exc...
