Without wanting to offend you, its probably your technique that is not giving you a satisfactory tone

A rich tone is aquired with the right technique, practice and you should be able to get it on the "primo"

Yeah her videos are awfully short and her "expert teaching" is always very unclear.. definitely not the best learning experience
