What I tend to do is play the song in the proper dynamics, then if I'm having trouble with a particular dynamic section I work on that a little louder or softer depending on the marking. We have 48 or so flutes, and most of them are pretty airy sounding. So, I tend to play on the louder side because...

I can..play my jazz band music on my flute..But I'm not technically a jazz flautist..^^;;

Okay, I play 2 major instruments, and 2 smaller ones.
Flute, tenor sax, penny wistle and bamboo flute.

Now that I htink of it, I do think there are a couple of keys not going down all the way..

Oh. I have absolutely no idea how to finger anything above G flat in the 3rd octave..

We have 3 male flautists in my band, although I must say..My band director picks on them a lot..When they get 100 on their tests he's like "Wow, and you're a guy." It's funny, but taken the wrong way it could be sexist..XP

I get a key buzzing problem on my low F flat. I don't know what causes it..I have a standard closed-hole flute even..

High b flat is just like low b flat..For fingering anyway. If you need to trill it, you use the thumb key. But I may have misunderstood your question..

I don't know why, but even when I really try not to, I overblow and squeak. The people around me think it's annoying but I don't get why I do it..I'm okay with high notes and low notes, but the middle notes I just squeak and squeak..><;; Help?
