I read that he didn't really like that flute. Too heavy to hold. But he was obliged to appear in public with it.

I have an Emeritus, and I love it! It looks quite ordinary but was made in the 1970s by some big-shots who worked at Armstrong at the time, who went on to make flutes on their own. Plays really well and sounds really good. $400 is a bargain if it is in good shape.
