I just recently got braces and it effected my sound dramatically :( you're very lucky it didn't effect you when you had them put on! oh, when i said i polish it i did just mean with the duster yellow cloth my flute came with i don't put anything extra on it! But i have a silver polishing cloth that could be my problem (or it's just me!). thank you pied_piper, great suggestions :D

Yes!! That's happened to me before too! I don't know if you can get anything to specially clean it but I just try to keep my flute really clean after every time I play just by polishing it. I'm glad i'm not the only one! xx
