Oh and to add something else to my above post concerning not disturbing the neighbours whilst playing very quitely ( ppp ) Here's another old trick also. Turn the television set on to a low level and practice your flute with it on. It's a curious thing about people, they don't seem to mind a TV set ...

Theodore, I don't understand why you would want to bother muting the flute that is already quite sounding compared to other wind instruments. Unless it's a case that you just want to see if it can be done. If you do not want to disturb the neighbours why not try the old tired and true way. Play very...

As I mentioned in my previous post , my old flute is a Armstrong series 90. It also has Elkhart-Ind marked on it. The serial number is 28 13040. It has a sterlng silver body and head joint only.
