I'm not looking for just a normal fingering chart. I want something that has the alternates listed as well. That's what has been so useful to me in my pic book.

Help with a book?

Hello--
I have the book "The Complete Piccolo", which list fingerings (many, alternate and traditional, trills), repetoire, and history. And, its very small and concise enough to fit in to my flute bag.

Is there such a book for flute?

Help finding music

Hi-
I need help finding some music that is for flute and piano. We are both classically trained, but do a lot of jazz. Im hoping for something with an open improv section. I play between a 3 and 4, he can do anything. I do not want claude bolling! I want something different. Thanks!

I'm not one to advocate for emailing pieces, but I do have a suggestion if money is tight. The last 3 pieces you listed are in the "flute music by french composers". You should definantly pick this book up, it will last you forever. Another thing is to buy the music in collections (for example, Galw...

the biggest thing I noticed is that your timing is off. I don't know if that's you or the drummer, but you need to stay with him. Staying in the "body" of the beat makes it sound very professional and very fun. Also work on hitting guidetones (the 3rd and 7th of the chord). This just sounds "right"....

Contemporary piece?

So, I just finished Mozarts Andante in C Maj and I need to pick a new piece. My flute teacher wants me to try to find one myself, but I don't even know where to start. We are preparing it for college auditions, and I need something "standardly" played at auditions, but something that is unique enoug...

Thanks for trying to help! I'm always nervous to play something edging on the contemporary side because I'm afraid I'll get an old-fashioned judge who thinks i need to show my classical training. Though I suppose the Faure really would do that, huh? I don't know what to do! I'm going to ask my teach...

Need help choosing a competition piece

Okay... I'm auditioning for COFA and I need to list the pieces I'll play in the finals (assuming I get in). Fantasie by Faure is required (and also my contest piece) Danse de la chevre by Honegger is the tape round, so is not allowed for the final I have 15 minutes to show everything off. Would the ...

...And the strange, unknown flowers...

I need to perform this piece in November. Has anybody played this piece? Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a recording of this available somewhere?

Thanks!

I hope your efforts turn out successfully! GOOD LUCK AND GOOD VIBES!

a quick fix would be use masking tape or plumbers tape and just put a little piece on the tenon (the part coming from the body). However, this is only a temporary fix and if you go to a good repairs person you can get it done for cheap.
