I know this is very old but I'd like to put my input in. I started playing my gemeinhardt flute 5 and a half years ago, and it's been very reliable. I've only taken it to the shop once or twice. I just upgraded to an intermediate gemeinhardt flute and the sound is beautiful. I love it. Solid silver ...
