Looks like my tone is getting better as gain playing experience so I can safely say my tone problem was me.

Ok so I have this older Yamaha YPC-61 piccolo and I would like to know if there are any differences between it and the newer 62 like significant improvements in tone and intonation?

Unfocused low D on piccolo
So I bought this Yamaha YPC-61 on eBay and seems to be in pretty good shape but my lower notes particularly the low D seem unfocused. Now I'm not use to playing piccolo so it could be me but wondering if it sounds like a leaky pad. The pads are old but look ok. So is an unfocused note a symptom of a...

Yes I have a Burke whistle but it's only in one key.
