I am looking for a piano accomp. to "Dear Lord and Father of mankind" (Repton)Key signature has three flats. I found this in a book with a cd . . but I would like to be able to do this song with ...

New Flute

I am thinking about purchasing a new flute. I have an Armstrong 103 open
hole, which I like, however I would like to purchase a flute with a gold lip
plate. I was thinking of an Armstrong 78. What is your opinion on an Armstrong
flutes and what would you recommend? Thank you. Jackie

How did you get into flute playing?

Like most others, I started playing flute in 4th grade and played through my senior year in high school. I got away from my music for a while, (aprx. 15 years or so) and just took it up again about 2 1/2 to 3 years ago. I am now 37 and I get so much out of my music now more than I ever did. I play f...

Hissing Sound -

How did your audition go? Is it getting easier for you? I'm still stumped on some things. I also can't believe I am playing again after all these years. May I add that I am also Hard of Hearing and wear two hearing aids so it does make it a little more difficult for me than most, but I still perform...

Ave Maria - how difficult?

I played Ave Maria, (a different version than Bach's) and Canon in D for a wedding this past summer. Ave is not that difficult technically, however, intonation would be high on the priority list. Canon in D is very beautiful and is a little more technical, however, I have a wonderful pianist and she...

Contemporary Christian/Messianic Flute Music

I play for church and I have been fortunate to have a choir director who chooses my music (as well as compose) for me. However, in my pianist's absence, I did purchase a couple of flute books with CD accomp. One book that comes to mind is called "Hymns for the Master" with CD. It is not difficult at...

I am definately NOT a professional by no means. I am playing again after not touching a flute for aprx. 15 years. I was amazed at how much came back to me. However, I notice sometimes when I''m am practicing, but most of the time this happens for performance time, a hissing sound or "air" sound come...

Hi - I'm new

You're never too old!! It is nice to see someone getting back into
the music after leaving it for a while. I'm 37 and just picked my flute up
again after 15 years and began playing for church two years ago. I never
realized how much I missed it. It's amazing how much you don't forget. Good
luck!!
