I know what you mean. I switched from plateau keys to french keys (funily enough when I was in France!) but anyway. I sort of went half and half with cold vs. Warm?! Turkey. I refuse to out them in now, incase I become dependant on them!

Natural???????
I've noticed a few posts on how to 'do' a vibrato. I was just wondering, is there anyone else who hasn't had to 'learn' how to do it? I've never had to actually learn how. It just....comes. And if I don't want it it just......stops. Am I doing it wrong???? The vibrato seems to be full and rich. Just...

Flute choices
I'm a student aspiring to play in a ballet orchestra for my career. I won't be ablr to afford a new flute for a while. But since I would like a flute to last me well into my career, I've started looking, learning about different makes, models etc. In order for my career choice, which do you think; a...

I wonder if you can help me. I have a week and a half till my flute exam, and I'm seriously lacking motivation. I thought, well, its because I've been preparing the same three pieces for a year. So I played something different.....Didn't work. Still not happy. There seems to be no expression in my m...

Msic Stands.
Is it just me, or does anyone else find music stands to be really...um......short. I''m 5 foot 10, and I always have to look down at the music, even when my stand is stretched to it limit! Does anyone know where I can get a really tall music stand, so I can have a nice straight back, chin nice and h...

Please help me, I feel awful
I don`t know how to say my problem without making it sound like a melodramatic diary entry, but i really don`t know where else to go, I need to speak to someone. I have never ever composed anything before, (I have been playing for two years, and am grade 5 ABRSM) And tonight I tried it, I tried to c...

A pin point?
On the rare occasions that I get to the high notes, (!) they are loud. Sometimes its okay cause it fits the piece. But I wouldn''t mind if I could get them to sound slighty (or alot!) more elegant and delicate for other pieces. Is increasing the whole ''smile thing'' and getting a pin point stream o...

Open vs Closed hole flutes
I started on a closed hole flute, ( a buffet model) and found it absoloutly fine, however I started to get more and more interested in jazz, and noticed that alot of jazz flautists were using open holes. Of preference, I'd say I'm partial to open holes, mainly for the techniques that are then availa...
