Oh and I forgot to add that when playing the low notes try
to direct more air into the tone hole rather than across it. Kim

For me working in the lower register requires a more
relaxed embochure. I would suggest working with long tones a bit. This way you
can play with each note for a bit and try to find your sweet spot. The Trevor
Wye Tone book is also great Kim

I was taught many years ago that the flute should be played
parallel to the ground. I remember my band teacher would walk through the flute
section and take a finger and lift up the ends of flutes that were not level.

I have really noticed
that I prefer slower music. Something that tends to flow helps me to get a
feeling for the music rather than just playing notes. So you notice that you
tend to enjoy one style of music or others ? Kim
