Rubbing alcohol will not hurt your headjoint. I take a cloth, coat it with rubbing alcohol and swab out my headjoint about every week or after playing long gigs. It will clean and take away any kind of bacteria and germs that may be on there. For the embouchure hole, just take a Q tip dipped in rubb...

Put a dollar bill under your flute pad to clean them. You are damaging your pads and not cleaning them one bit. T...

3)What is your dream flute?
a fully gold Gemeinhardt
Gemeinhardt doesn't make any solid gold flutes. You could always get one gold plated. If you want a gold flute, I would spend your money on a gold Burkart or Powell.

The added weight of the gold will change the response and sound of the flute, but it is such a miniscule difference that you wont be able to notice it. Sorry, but that is not true. The gold is WAY too thin to add any kind of weight that would make even the slightest bit of difference in the sound. ...

Congrats on your performance! The gold plating on a lip is purely for allergenic or cosmetic reasons and will not effect the sound. www.fluteworld.com has very good prices and should be lower then if you are to go buy a new flute from a local music store. They tend to jack up the prices. Hope that h...
