My teacher says

Well personally I haven't tried it but myteacher says that the way your lips are used are way different and that oboe is way stiffer. That might make it hard because flute is very relaxed.

fluteworld

OKay, I am getting a step-up flute and I checked out fluteworld. I like the trial period, but I couldn't fined anything about payment plans. I would need one like a monthly thing or whatever. Can anyone tell me if that's possible from fluteworld? I know wwbw.com has the payment plan, but no trial pe...

My teacher recommended me to get a step-up flute as well, but she said I should get a solid silver flute and they cost more than other flutes with the same features (except the solid silver body, they usually have solid silver head joints though.) I did fined that the jupitier 711 cost about $1000 a...

Dude! I know what you mean! I'm in 8th grade, and have been playing since 6th. Though, I'm not the only one in my section that can pop out a high G. Me, along with the rest of the first 4 chairs can do that. (maybe your band teacher is a little lacksidaiscal....) I get the "you think your better tha...

That's so cool that your picking up flute at 66. I started in sixth grade instead of 5th and I thought I was going to be behind! Don't worry I'm one of the best in my section, so if I can do it then you sure can. I do think you should fined a teacher though. Atleast tell you get the basics down. I c...

Jupiter 711 series

I'm thinking of purchesing a jupiter 711 as a step-up flute. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. If so, are they reliable? Do they stay in tune? Are they hard to play (I haven't been able to play on one, yet.)? Would you recommend the 711 for a 8th grade who's been playing on a ge...

Plenty of listeners can tell! We should always make the effort to do the right thing, even if the rewards seem minimal. I'm aware we're discussing intonation, but I'll use tone as an example. Just because Joe Lunchbox can't tell the difference between my tone, his 10-year-old daughter's , and Paula...

Well I don't double on clarinet, but I do play: piano, violin, bass guitar, and flute. One of my best friends tried to teach me some notes on the clarinet...... it was alot easier, but she has a crap load of problems with it. So I hope that can help so how. :D
