that's a beautiful picture, cyberflute! Nice website too. It has a lot more on it than a lot of others I've visited.

I'm moving to Nova Scotia from Maine in a few weeks! Its kinda exciting, although I will really miss my flute teacher here. Does anyone know of good teachers up there?

I'm also going to the junior session of Kinhaven Music School in Weston Vermont.

My pictures are taken without flash, but with a very slow shutter speed. No fingerprints show up either ~.^ Fluteguy - what kind of flute is yours? Do you think those anti tarnish strips really work? I had one for awhile but someone at Brannen Brothers threw it away when I was trying out head joints...

None of the things listed have helped my problem, and my teacher says I have near perfect hand position. I just don't understand. And it goes through phases where it hardly turns red at all and then goes back to being red again. Has anyone had this problem and figured out how to fix it? (It's defini...

what to play next

I am finishing up the Concertino by Chaminade now, and my teacher has given me the decision of what to play next. I'm really not sure what to play.
Any suggestions?

actually, there are three fingerings for two of the Bbs.
There is the side key fingering, which is next to the c sharp trill on an open holed flute

tight embouchure

I recently took a long break from flute, because of hand troubles, and now that I am playing again, I find that my embouchure has gotten tighter than it used to be. I had a pretty good embouchure before. Are there any good embouchure exercises in the Trevor Wye omnibus that can help? Or any other ex...

Believe it or not, one of the best ways of getting out your high notes, is to puff your cheeks a little. My teacher has a little picture of Julius Baker playing high notes, and his cheeks are puffed. She shows it to me every time I have trouble with my high notes. At first, just try relaxing as much...

I think that the problem is that the key has a major leak in it. If I don't put any pressure on it, then it gets a thin and horrible sound.
