practice long tones for 15-20 mins a day. you'll sound like an angel (eventually). how to do them... start on G2. go down chromatically (G-F#, F#-F, etc), not going on to the next note until you feel you have achieved the most beautiful sound possible. fill the room with your sound. make it full and...

TI-KI-KI, DOO-KOO-TOO it takes practice tho

im really good at explaining it if i can demonstrate it with my flute....but i'll try basically, you're just saying "HA", using your diaphragm to accent it. first, start off with whole notes. say "HA" at the first beat, sorta like: "HA" 2 3 4 "HA" 2 3 4 then go to half notes..."HA" 2 "HA" 4.. quarte...

i use the Rubank advanced method, its great one of the girls in my section uses Trevor Wye, ive looked at it, it looks good. i dunno how it would be for a beginner though...i dont really remember what all was in it Raymond Fussel is awesome. it has scales (M/m/Chromatic), arpeggios, intervals, chord...

take the flute to a technician and have him re-adjust the
keys. you shouldnt have to squeeze at all. your keys are probably out of
alignment, or bent

my first flute was used. i used it for 3 or 4 years before switching to my intermediate. i loved that thing go for it. if its in good condition, they will be cheaper. but make sure its not TOO well-loved. i would be careful buying something off ebay. ive heard too many horror stories about people ta...

they're fine if you're a
beginner. but for anything more than that...id go with a Gemeinhardt, Yamaha, or
Muramatsu. and it depends on its condition i dont really like them. but thats my
opinion. you have to find one that you "click" with, and if its an Armstrong,
then its an Armstrong

do you double or single tongue? practice your double tonguing, going slowly. start with whole notes, then half notes, quarter, eighth, triplets, sixteenths, etc. go slowly, then work your way up. for double tonguing, say: duh-guh, ti-ki, ta-ka, or tu-ku. like 4 eighths would be: ta-ka-ta-ka hope i h...
