Re: Emerson ELD? Fill me in...
just remember that something completely solid silver isn't likely to be super cheap because of the actual price of silver (although it's way less expensive than gold/platinum of course). and then ebay is difficult because you can't just try out the flute first before you buy it. I found the emerson ...

What I have found with the Azumi (and the Sonare - just to throw that in) is that my students who tend to use a lot of air tend to have intonation issues on these flutes, beign sharp on top and generally not blending well with other players. Scientific, no. However, I am not the only flute teacher ...

Don't ever let anyone do that....Cork grease on the joints will just collect rubbish and gum up, making it even more difficult to assemble and disassemble the instrument. If it's tough to put it together, try cleaning the tenons. If that doesn't work, then a visit to the tech for some fitting may b...

are azumis a=440 or 442?
hey, so I'm trying to decide between this amadeus and azumi I have here, but the azumi is being really sharp on top but flat on bottom. I'm trying to figure out if that's because the flute got damaged, or if it is 442, or any other reason. Would any of you guys know about this? They both have such g...

ookwormbay7, I should also note here that the Muramatsu is a handmade flute, while the flutes on your trial list are not. That often makes a considerale difference in flutes due to the extra workmanship involved = quality. I do not try to push any specific flute, but the Muramatsu is definately a f...

:x we're playing that right now...ugh. Just getting to the runs area...could give the world a headache. (although I play picc too, I keep a flute part so I play during those few measures since there is plenty of time to switch. I need to keep doing that because I haven't gotten the constant switchin...

I started playing on an open holed flute...sure, it was 25 years old, but still open holed. It was a sterling-head armstrong, but no other step-up components. I am currently trying to get rid of it:D . I started playing with cork plugs that would constantly fall out, and eventually I would start los...

The way I like to think of it is this: everybody else has to play for him too...that logical part of it helps. It's like when you have to get up and do a speech for a class...the whole rest of the class is just as nervous as you, could mess up just as easily...you're all in it together, so there's n...

I seem to be making relatively the same step-up as you. We have been comparing for a while, and while I'm no expert, I can tell you some of what I've heard. First, I jumped when I saw that specific Gemeinhardt on your list, on fluteworld.com, on sale for $1500 instead of $3000. However, I discussed ...
