I have been practicing a lot the past few months because I am in several different groups, plus I am preparing for college auditions and Solo and Ensemble. About a week ago, I stopped practicing because of pain in my wrists (this has happened on several occasions) and realized my wrists were swollen...

the flute plays fine... I have played it on several occasions just in case it sounds like she is using way to much air, but when I tell her to use a smaller appachure and/or to puch her chin out just a bit the note usually doesnt come out or sounds very bad in case it does tie in to air support, etc...

Yeah i remember when i played Kokopelli for one of the instructors, she asked me why i played the piece the way i did. When I told her that I had listened to recordings and pulled pieces I liked out of them, she was really impressed. So that makes sense. Ok.. Thank you!

think small, controlled appeture. push your lower lip forward a little as well. if it is going flat lift your head a tiny bit. that should help...
