Playing notes on the flute

What kind of music are you looking to play?
In my local music store, they have several areas with flute music. A lot of the
books are music of 2001, 2002, 2003 or you can find sheet music for older
songs.

ear training! I really need some help.

One thing I have used (since
I'm fairly new also) is a tuner. I used it for about a month to make sure my
flute was in tune after putting it together. It's been a while since I used it
everytime...now I just check myself and I usually have it right. Good Luck.

Taking the pludge

[quote] LOL. I had this problem too [;)] It's one of those rub your stomach in circles and pat your head type things at first. If you keep practicing, you'll eventually get it. I still have trouble when I'm tapping on the beat and playing eighth or sixteenth notes, but a lot of times I find myself t...

How to practice when you can't

Kristin, take care of yourself and get
better and soon you be playing the flute whenever you want too. I like the
suggestion getting books & magazines about music & the flute...great idea.

to self or not self teach

I have a agree with Kristin...don't let being older keep you away from private lessons...I am older and my instructor has no problem teaching music to someone who wants to learn and the student that follows me is older than me. She has picked up on plenty of things that I though was correct...they a...

Wisdom Teeth

I'm sorry that isn't what you wanted to hear but I am trying to help. I had my wisdom teeth out one at a time when I was 18-20. I did get dry socket with one of them. It hurts a lot. It doesn't take too long to heal just give it a few more days or if you really can't wait don't play for too long a t...

Wisdom Teeth

You need to wait until you are healed or you may run the risk of dry socket which is very painful. It's not a long time so be patient. Here's some info on dry socket~note the last paragraph about the straw, which you are sort of doing playing the flute....(c/p from another site) A "dry socket" occur...
