Flute to Oboe

Is changing to oboe hard from flute or should I learn the clarinet first then oboe? Also will I be able to just buy an oboe reed to try to produce a sound? I have heard that playing the oboe will effect my flute playing a lot, is it true? I know the oboe is a very expensive instrument and also hard ...

This has never occured to me but do you put your arms down for a short rest in between songs? If you don't you should. Also consider your sitting position.

Doubling on Clarinet

I am thinking of doubling on the clarinet over the summer. I have played the flute (duh! hence why I am posting on flute land.com) for almost 4 years. Is it hard to double on the clarinet?
