Exactly! Plus if you practice it slowly and work your way faster, it will be very smooth! Jupiter is correct about this, each not should sound the same and therefor you may need to practice the goo, or the kuu more. You should be able to start on any syllable, so practice just playing: Doo, Doo, Doo...

Thanks you guys! It is always nice to hear positive feedback. This site is now about 6 years old. I started it back in high school with a few jokes and a fingering chart. Now it has branched out to so much more. About the Green Day song, it is "Brain Stew", although I have not heard Jaded. If you gu...

Now, if you are playing the flute and all you hjear is a beautiful air free tone, you sound like crap to the aduience. "WHAT?" you ask. That is right, you should roll out and lif you chin until you hear a little bit of air. The audience will not hear this whispering of the air and you will have a fu...

If you have a copy of the Recording, this will help A LOT! Listening to a piece will help you have a better understanding of it, even if you are playing just the flute part.

Do not think on A# as Bb. They may sound the same, but they are not the same notes, they are enharmonic respellings. If you take a theory class it will explane this. For playing or sight reading music, if everytime you come across a A# you think Bb, you have to take time to convert it in your head. ...

But at the same time, I am not going 2 pay an outragious price on a flute at a music store. They make plently of money off the guitars. Flutes are not there area and the demand is less so they double ther price.

Perhaps it could also be the area in which you practice in. Are you getting a lot of feedback or echo? Try practicing in an open area. Ear plugs are a very good idea when practicing the piccolo, but you shouldn't be damaging your ears with the flute (unless U R up in the 3rd register). Try going out...

"Use Lighter fluid soaked into cigarette paper" I have not heard that one yet, hummm. That lighter fluid sounds like a bad idea. USE CIGARETTE PAPER on stiky pads. If you have any other pad problems you probley shouldn't attempt to fix them yourself. More info at: http://www.fluteinfo.com/Doc/Cleani...
