this is what helps me. i warm up for about a half an hour then i go to the stuff that i need to work on. just start with your high E. Play it as a long tone. Then move up to the F. I play on an emerson flute and i absolutly love it. I got "the american headjoint" (seperate) for it and it makes my tone great. it's a good choice.

Maybe you're band director wants to give the other girls a chance? Maybe he feels you'd be good for it but that the other people deserve a chance? I don't know, that's what my mom always tells me. lol I don't always agree with this, but it might be the case.

grade. I've been playing for 7 years. I have 2nd chair in school band. I've
also been to county band, district band (4th chair) and i'm going to region

What kind of band festivals does your state have? Here in Pennsylvania we have County, District, Region,& State. This is how it works...Your director selects you for county & district band. Then at district band you tryout for region band and they take the top half of the section. Then at region ban...
