I just went and looked a bit closer at my flute, based on what you said, and I found... as you suspected... a spring that had come dislocated. I replaced it and the problem is resolved. Thanks much.

I have a Powell Sonare SF6000, open hole B-foot flute. It appears to me that if I installed hole plugs, the flute would not be able to play the E note. I just acquired this HJ and need help to confirm the maker. The only marking on the HJ is this logo. It is allegedly a Miyazawa from a Model 102. Does anyone recognize it?
