Hello mate! Thanks for the advice. I was thinking something was up with the flute or not - I was thinking of perhaps returning it and either staying with the 2SP or getting a Yamaha 221. I think I will be keeping it and just work on it. Thanks!
Alvin

New flute oddities...
Good day everyone! I'm curious, I got a Pearl 525 a few days back, and have been practicing only on it. But today I tried my 2SP, and oddly enough I could hit low C quite consistently - I've always had a difficulty with low C. I think the 525 is marketed as a step up flute - would such flutes be mor...

Flute teacher in LA?
Hey everyone! It seems my work is going to be less hectic in a week as I'll be finishing my internship in the states very soon, but before I return home I would like to at least get a flute teacher to go over with me my posture, embouchure etc. Do you guys know anyone I could contact? The problem is...

Thanks everyone! My HJ isn't exceptionally loose, it just slides into place much easier. FJ may be a problem, but I'll see if I can find a tech or talk to fw about this. Will let you guys know in a few days how this flute goes. In any case, in another forum I posted I had trouble with the low C? Wel...

New flute! Question on HJ
Hi all! I just received a lovely new Pearl 525RBE, it sounds quite different from my 2SP, and the lip-plate is very different. I'm gonna test for a few more days but most likely I'll keep it...however.... The head joint seems relatively easy to slide in and out, I'm pretty certain if I attempt to (i...

Hi! Another minor update, it is most probably not the flute - last night I was experimenting with different embouchures, I tried covering a bit more of the bottom lip and I was able to blow a very different, strong and immediate low C, as well as the other low notes. The entire range also sounded qu...

Hi again! Just an update. I still have problems with the low C, well I should be getting a brand new flute to replace this flute soon, so we'll see. But while I was doing as you advised, and experimenting with the embouchure, I happened to notice that every time I breathe in, my embouchure tends to ...

Hi! I got a Gemeinhardt 2SP. Also had it serviced, but with no one to check, who knows right? :-) Many people do have issues producing a Low C when they first start playing, and this may be the case for you as well. Try angling your air down into the flute more, and experiment with different apertur...

Low C - takes time to ramp up - me or flute?
Hey everyone! When I play the notes from top to bottom e.g. C -> B -> A -> G -> F -> E -> D -> C I can transit from note to note without any delay. But if I play the lower notes totally apart, like C, D, E, there is a bit of a "ramp up" time; I need to blow perhaps like .75 seconds before the low C ...

Just saying hi!
Hey everyone! Just wanna say Hi! to the forum. I got a flute about 2 months back after hearing some tunes that I really wanna play but my Native American flute can't due to its scale - and have only recently found the time to sit down and practice for a little while every day. So far it's pretty goo...
