Re: The Powell Sonare 501 - In LOVE
In the summer long and mcquade had a financing sale! You can ask them about it, maybe one is coming up soon. Assuming you tried the Sonare at long and mcquade... maybe not!

Re: Instrument Repair Inquiry
Thanks for the reply Joe! I mean, for the meanwhile, it seems like it works fine, but I am curious what you mean by "bend out of regulation"? You mean eventually it'll flatten out and it will be back to the way it used to be? I mean I guess the best thing would have to be to have a little bit of a t...

Instrument Repair Inquiry
I was just reading this post by Nancy Shinn online (https://www.jennifercluff.com/check.htm) about the adjustments for the back connectors of flutes. I noticed that when I pressed my F-key, the B flat key was maybe half a mm from sealing, which caused a leak if I do the third octave B flat (using th...

What kind of anti-tarnish cloths do you use? This is different from polishing cloths correct?

I think the DZ200 has a silver riser too? Not sure. But in any case, $34 more is not that much.

Did you check out youtube videos on the topic? I bet there's a way for you to train for the front R tonguing rather than the gargle kind haha.

Re: Is my flute contagious?
If your flute is silver, even plated, then you have the most antimicrobial danger to bacteria known. Wash your swab, yes, but the flute itself, the silver is the destroyer of bacteria. https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2015/05/silver-turns-bacteria-deadly-zombies So interesting! I remember hearing ab...

Exciting times! The university concert bands are excellent ! way under rated I haven't seen any quotes by Bach that he hated rubato 8) Although a little time with the metronome doesn't hurt :D Haha that's good to remember about the rubato  I definitely had to review some of my music theory wit...

Re: Flute lessons
Welcome Cebrul and hope you're enjoying playing. Are you getting any help from the university instructors? Hi Classitar! I'm enjoying it very much :) the teacher I found is from a different university/college than mine. Though it probably would be a good idea to contact my university's flute instru...

Re: flute price USA europe
The one from Intermusic also shows a discounted price of EUR585 from the original of EUR787 (26% discount). Then if you count the other import tariffs, maybe it'll end up more or less the same? I guess it also depends on the deals between the distributors/manufacturers too.

Flute lessons
Hi all, I've played the flute in my Jr. High band for 3 years and it has been 10 years since then. I've kept that same beginner flute and throughout the years I have had bouts of motivation to play a new piece of music and would practice for a short period - so my flute playing/practicing has been o...

Re: New flute help!
Thank you for your reply! I'm currently looking at buying the Azumi I mentioned before used. I have found one for a wonderful price of $1,600 on reverb. (which is almost half of the price new) It says that it was a demo, and had only been played on twice. It's the exact model I'm looking for with a...
