Re: Silly Question About Flutes and Cats

That’s a great idea!!! Thank you for the suggestion!!! The kittens don’t seem to be as disturbed as when I first started, but my two old boys, Ronald and Fred (they were born when Harry Potter was being released in theaters...), seem to be the most disturbed. I’ll have to try the flute music...

Hi there... I just have a quick question... I just started to play the flute again but my cats absolutely loathe the idea. I can’t leave them outside of my bedroom when I practice because they reach underneath the door, claw the doorframe, and MEOW... LOUDLY!!! However, when I let them in to the bed...

Left Index Finger Tingling and Numbness

Hi there... Since I have gotten back into practicing the flute, I have noticed that my left index finger becomes quite numb and I have that horrible “pins and needles” sensation. When I played regularly in college and in the US Army Bands, I never had this problem. I have one of those Bo Pep flute s...

Re: Getting Back Into Flute

Whoo Hoo!! Two hours of flute practice this morning!!! Lower register is still difficult, and having issues with the high register, but it’s getting better! I can ALMOST get through the Borne Carmen Fantasy with minimal mistakes, but not nearly up to tempo!!! But, compared to how it sounded when I f...

Re: Getting Back Into Flute

Thank you so much for your reply! I would LOVE to have a Muramatsu!!! I remember when I was in college, the Sankyo Primas were the flute to have. I really wish that I hadn’t sold my Mateki, that was a great flute. I‘ll order those method books that you suggested. I really appreciate your feedback! B...

Getting Back Into Flute

Hi there... I studied flute and piano when I was in Elementary, Junior and High School, spent a couple of years studying at the college level and then decided to join the US Army and played flute/piccolo for three US Army Bands. I don’t know if I just got burnt out on it but after I discharged from ...
