I am learning how to play Sonata in F major by Benedetto Marcello. I was wondering about ornamentation, and wondering when you trill to you trill from a note above, on the note, or from below?

I recently bought a Yamaha 574H it has an offset g split E (which i love by the way) and a b foot joint, open-holed. I just upgraded from a Yamaha student model.

I recently bought a Yamaha 574 series. Can you guys tell what the fastest way to learn to play with open holes? Is just leaving the plugs out best or learning to play one hole at a time? What do you guys thingk about this model of flute?

I have braces right now and i find it difficult still after having them for two years to play some notes, but you get better the more you practice and learn to adjust your mouth around those annoying things. I used to have a horrible tone when i first got them on but keep practicing you will get bet...

Thanks for all of your ideas. I have really small hands and very short fingers. I am 5'4" and my shortest fingers are my pinky's and ring fingers. Also what do you think about a split e on the flute seeing as high e is hard for me to play.
I have braces. is that a reason it is hard?

I was wondering what kind of flue is the best. Right now I have a Yamaha Intermediate or Advanced model. I have been playing the flute for about five years and i have taken flute lessons for maybe a year. Would it be better for me to use a professional model with holes.
