just high A natural??? try playing ALL octaves on a piccolo! (at least all that it allows...) i recently heard that if u play long enough you can lose partially hearing in your right ear...so ear plugs and cotton balls are good things!!! :D

one of my personal favorites is a song called Still, Still, Still. it can be played either solo or accompanied. its really pretty, but kind of easy. hope that helped!!!!

what i have learned from my private lesson teacher (and to me, she is like God when it comes to playing the flute!!!) she has always said you can emphasize the notes more and it makes it seem more like a crescendo. hope that helped!

if you plan to pursue your flute abilities to upper level orchestras or bands, definitely go the artley. i've played them before and they are pretty good instruments. but if you just want to learn for the sake of picking up a different instrument i would play the pearl. hope this helped!

im a high school band student and in the summers i volunteer to teach beginners. the book we use, and the one i used growing up, is The Standard of Excellence by Bruce Pearson. hope this helped.

well...im not a guy...(does piccoloprincess17 give it away? lol) anyways...if you are going to be taking lessons, i say wait until your teacher gives you the go-ahead before you audition for a HS band/orchestra. he or she will help you to pick out the music that will accent your talents and abilitie...

in indiana we have all-state band...i tried out last year but didnt make it, but my friends have made it. the best advice i can give you is to prepare yourself for sight-reading!!!!!!!!!!

try to have the air come from your stomach and really open up your throat. act as if you are swallowing a golf ball or holding an egg in your mouth. hope this helped!

trill help?

hey...i was wondering what is the best fingering for a trill on the piccolo for a 3rd octave Bflat to a Cnatural. i have practice with the Indianapolis Youth Wind Ensemble tomorrow and i need to know. thank you so much!
